LS,
You asked if i find any interviewer in US (financial industry) blatantly arrogant, or something to that effect. My answer is no.
I feel a small percentage of the java interviewers in this industry assumed overseas candidates to be somewhat different from local candidates. Different can mean stronger or weaker.
I think some of these interviewers have interviewed many overseas candidates. It's human nature to assume the next overseas candidate will be somewhat similar to the previous. I believe you have some idea what similiarities overseas candidates tend to show. You probably know what differences exist, at least on the surface, between overseas and “local” candidates ie US-experienced.
I didn't notice any interviewer displaying a status-bias as if overseas candidates came on their knees begging for jobs.
