Appreciate (2).  No problem. I enjoy rigorous debate. Sometimes a complex/emotional issue may overwhelm a guy in the midst of it. Some 3rd-party advice can be a wake-up call.

 

In a way, I could be in a different boat compared to many China/India immigrant professionals. I feel I'm luckier, to have a more attractive home country.

 

As a family including our 4 parents, we are not so keen/suitable for US. Among the 4, My Mom is the only one enthusiastic about US.

 

Yes cost is one of the real shocks that contributed to break my (tanbin's) resolve to take root here. Better now. Our experience may slowly change once we settle down in NY with a 50% pay rise.

 

When it comes to cost analysis, we guys are usually rational.
