The Great Singapore Race (streaming, top schools,..) aren’t going to matter when moving to US. In contrast, these study habits are more important when we go to the US. Not a complete list:
- self-learning, independent learning
- spot the weak areas in your own learning
- fuxi, possibly for a deeper, broader understanding
- taking notes
- asking good questions during group discussions
- asking teachers in-depth question
- asking yourself question – essential for clarity, depth of learning
- compare and contrast
- drill down — on important concepts, to reach a deeper understanding
- spotting patterns and trends
- self-quiz
- reading (and re-reading) habit
- questioning, not wholesale acceptance at face value
- self-check after completing a piece of work
- cross-check
- collaborating in group project
- learning from fellow students?
