unnecessary worry about boy’s learning, in hind sight

* When he was 2, I worried about my son learning too slowly to speak, and his skills with those smart, creative toys etc. He turned out fine.
* I also worried about his abstract reasoning. He turned out fine.
* In his N2 and K1 levels, we worried about his penmanship. Now his writing is neat. Based on my own experience, he would be able to speed up in his 20’s.

Conclusion — He’s not an early boomer who beats his same-age peers at some academic subject but he’s smart. (Those early boomers often do not maintain their lead.) I think he can learn fairly effectively when he puts his mind to something.

If I were to get him to be serious about some subject, I would prefer a non-exam subject such as piano, blogging, renzi, programming…
