Calorie restriction and burn rate management are two similar areas I might have a personal advantage. These two domains have commonalities.

  • optimize — bold experiments to find optimal ratios of gratification/cost
  • bargains — sharp eyes to identify bargains and anti-bargains
  • delayed gratification —
  • huge long-term benefits — Not all penny counting has such huge benefits
  • penny counting — i remember in my middle school days I felt very much in control of my spending on snacks + breakfast. This control has been instrumental in my entire life including my ffree, my family housing, my property investments.. even though I once rented in two HDB estates simultaneously. Calorie counting is similar to penny counting though far less precise.
  • constant self-discipline — (over a long time) This is hard for everyone and most people fail more than I do, which makes me outstanding, though I’m not the strongest. Some would call it self-deprivation, but I see the habit as wholesome and positive.
