## calorie-dense yet unsatisfying foods #anti-bargain

I am not abstaining from all calorie-dense foods. I let myself enjoy ice cream, my peanuts and other calorie-dense foods, provided they are truly satisfying to me. It’s plain stupid to incur high calorie cost without satisfaction , but we all do that stupid thing.

You would question who the hell would eat fattening yet not-extremely-satisfying foods but, like I said in ## satisfying@low-cal reality often defies intuition. Our intuition about calorie density is plain naive.

Taste is personal, so here is the list for my taste bud, roughly ranked by surprise:

  1. buns, cakes and cookies with sugar frost
  2. most cream cake
  3. butter cookies and most other cookies
  4. egg yolk
  5. Most nuts — including cashew, almonds … are NOT more tasty than my unshelled peanuts !
